In the winter semester 2025/2026, 125 international students started their Master's degree programme at the Faculty of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Mathematics. To welcome them to Paderborn University, the Welcome Days were held from 8-9 October.
The Institute of Computer Science at Paderborn University is presenting six new films that provide specific information about teaching at the institute. The first films are "Designing Code Analyses for Large-Scale Software Systems" by Prof. Dr. Eric Bodden, "Introduction to Human-Centered Machine Learning" and "Machine Learning for Biometrics" by Dr.-Ing. Philipp Terhörst and "Quantum Networks" by Dr. Zahra Raissi.
A group of student teachers from the Institute of Mathematics at Paderborn University took part in the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) "Profession-oriented Perspectives on Geometry in International Dialogue 2025" as part of a proseminar.

The decarbonisation of industrial process heat is one of the major challenges of the energy transition. In industry, however, a significant proportion of the energy required is covered by fossil fuels, while only a small proportion of the energy used is recovered. This is where the joint project "HeatTransPlan" comes in.
From October 1, 2025, Prof. Dr. Axel-Cyrille Ngonga Ngomo will take over the office of Vice Dean for Computer Science. He succeeds Prof. Dr. Eric Bodden, whom the Faculty would like to thank for his commitment. Also on October 1, Prof. Dr. Balázs Kovács will succeed Prof. Dr. Tobias Weich as Vice Dean for Mathematics. We would also like to thank Prof. Weich for his dedicated work in the Dean's Office.
