"All Day Research" Podcast: Twentieth episode with Dr. Liang Wu online

 |  EIM-NachrichtenCS-Nachrichten

In the twentieth episode of the "All Day Research" podcast, we welcome Dr. Liang Wu. Together with our host Marvin Beckmann, they talk about paths to self-employment in Computer Science.

Dr. Liang Wu is a transfer scout at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics and is responsible for identifying research projects with start-up potential. At TecUP, he helps students and young scientists obtain suitable support services for their business start-up. "I always recommend coming to us before the actual start-up and exchanging initial ideas. This way, we can start looking for suitable support programs early on to avoid a gap in the process," explains Dr. Wu.

During the interview, Dr. Wu also explains the different support teams available at TecUp and how they can help with individual concerns. When asked what the difference is between TecUP and the Garrage33, he has a clarifying answer: "The Garage33 is sort of a place where interesting events and workshops are held regularly. In addition, the MakerSpace has a variety of lab equipment or 3D printers that can for example be used to build prototypes. We also have a variety of software that young start-ups can use with us," Dr. Wu said.

The podcast was implemented in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science and the Computer Science Student Council. The aim is to give more insights into science and thereby bring students - especially those in the first semester - closer to the study, to arouse interest and to show how much fun research and the study of Computer Science at the Paderborn University can be.
