In the winter semester 2025/2026, 125 international students started their Master's degree programme at the Faculty of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Mathematics. To welcome them to Paderborn University, the Welcome Days were held from 8-9 October. This programme is designed to provide students with basic information about Paderborn University and important tips on starting their studies. Similar to the orientation phase for Bachelor's students, the Welcome Days offered new Master's students an insight into everyday university life. The Dean of Research, Prof Dr Marco Platzner, began by warmly welcoming the new students to our faculty and introducing the university and the faculty. Over the course of the day, the students not only learnt important details about their degree programme, but also received information about the services offered by the student council, the PAUL assistance system and the International Office. A highlight of the programme was the evening together in the vaulted cellar in the city centre, where fellow students could exchange ideas and get to know each other better in a relaxed atmosphere.
The faculty runs four international Master's programmes: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Systems Engineering and Optoelectronics and Photonics, which are taken by students at Paderborn University.
