Research reserve
The Research Commission at the University of Paderborn provides the faculty with annual funding that early-career researchers can apply for to cover travel to conferences, online conferences, as well as material and personnel costs. 50% of the graduate scholarships to be funded by the faculty can be financed from the research reserve; in this context, applications from W1 groups are given priority over those from W2 groups, which in turn are given priority over applications from W3 groups.
Travel expense subsidies can be applied for monthly by email by the deadline of September 30 of each year (please submit as early as possible, no later than the first day of the month in which the trip takes place). Originals are not required.
The maximum funding for trips involving a presentation or poster is €800.00. Purely informational trips can be funded with up to €300.00. One (successful) application may be submitted per year per person. If it becomes apparent that we will not fully utilize the funds, we will send an announcement in the second half of the year indicating that a second application is possible. Applications for conference travel may be submitted even if confirmation of the presentation is not yet available. This can be submitted later, or the trip will be funded as an informational trip.
Further information on the Research Commission and on applications and guidelines for the Research Fund can be found at the bottom of the page.
