The Research Commission of Paderborn University provides the faculty with annual funds that junior researchers can apply for to cover conference travel, online conferences, as well as material and personnel costs. 50% of the 50% of the graduate fellowship to be financed by the faculty can be financed from the research reserve; applications from W1 groups are given priority over those from W2 groups, and those from W2 groups are given priority over applications from W3 groups.

Travel grants can be applied for by September 30th of each year by the deadline (no later than the first day of the month in which the trip takes place). The maximum funding for trips with a lecture/poster is €800.00. Pure information trips have been possible since May 2024 and can be funded with up to €300.00. The application will be forwarded to the Research Committee after approval by the Dean. One application can be submitted per person per year. Applications for conference trips can already be submitted even if the confirmation of the lecture is not yet available. This can then be submitted later or the trip can be funded as an information trip.
